CCD Hong Kong Creative Center

Hongkong

By Victoria Harbour: Vision in Motion

More than an international financial hub, Hong Kong stands at the crossroads of the East and West, past and present, where diverse cultures coexist in dynamic harmony. Within this vibrant context, the CCD Hong Kong Creative Center emerges as the company’s strategic hub in the Asia-Pacific region, strengthening its global connectivity and sharpening its sensibility to cross-cultural markets.

Conceived as a “library” of culture, time, and passion, the Center embodies CCD’s belief that design transcends boundaries and endures through time. The space is defined by a sensibility of composed, understated elegance, drawing inspiration from Hong Kong’s distinctive cultural context while integrating advanced intelligent systems. A rich interplay of humanistic details and artful furnishings lends the space a sense of warmth and narrative depth.

By weaving local aesthetics with an international design language, the project redefines workplace environments through innovative, context-specific solutions in a globalized era—demonstrating CCD’s foresight in cross-disciplinary integration and cultural convergence.
Situated at 228 Wan Chai Road, the Center occupies a prime location in the vibrant heart of Wan Chai, one of Hong Kong’s earliest developed areas.

In close proximity to major government offices and international institutions, the area sits at the intersection of administrative presence and commercial vitality—offering an ideal environment for CCD’s global expansion and business engagement. Adjacent to Happy Valley Racecourse and Victoria Harbour, the Center faces the upscale Mid-Levels residences on the hillside, opening to expansive green vistas and world-class harbour views.

Set within the broader urban fabric, the Center benefits from Wan Chai’s historic charm and metropolitan sophistication, with a dense network of premium dining, retail, and cultural destinations easily accessible, as well as swift connections to commercial hubs like Causeway Bay and Central, facilitating a seamless integration of work and life. With these advantages, the district provides an exceptional setting for the Center, where administrative convenience, commercial dynamism, cultural richness, and lifestyle appeal converge, fostering a distinctive brand identity and a sense of belonging.

For CCD, design is a long journey fueled by enduring passion and ongoing evolution. Envisioned as a “library,” the CCD Hong Kong Creative Center embraces a reflective and culturally grounded sensibility—moving beyond the conventional office to serve as a platform for exchange, learning, and curated expression.

Reception · Lounge · Café
CCD approaches the space as a cultural narrative that transcends mere functionality, exploring the humanistic spirit of design and its relevance to the era. With a minimalist design language, a restrained palette of black and white, and understated materials, the space subtly blends Eastern Zen sensibilities with timeless sophistication.
Expansive bookshelves replace traditional partitions, generating a “house within a house” experience that enriches spatial rhythm and reinforces a sense of architectural storytelling.

Boundless design and unrestricted thinking are at the core of CCD’s global perspective, which permeates the Hong Kong Creative Center. Drawing on CCD’s expertise in high-end hospitality design, the Center introduces an experience-driven scenographic approach to the workplace environment, interweaving café, lounge, and conversation areas into a “micro urban living room.” The open layout supports both productive teamwork and meaningful social engagement, fostering a sense of belonging.

Conversation Area
CCD emphasizes a harmonious symbiosis between space and nature. Dark-hued grille screens and glass partitions create a “three-fold” spatial rhythm, reflecting Eastern sensibilities of restraint and ritual. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows draw in daylight and mountain views, blurring interior and exterior boundaries and encouraging both relaxed and focused interactions. The space embodies a design philosophy rooted in a profound dialogue between people and the environment.

Viewing Area
The viewing window offers sweeping vistas of the Mid-Levels luxury residences and the Happy Valley Racecourse, the birthplace of Hong Kong’s horse racing tradition. Here, over a century of racing heritage intertwines with the pulse of contemporary city life. Each Wednesday evening, a spectacle of speed, elegance, and order unfolds, showcasing Hong Kong’s enduring cultural legacy and urban vitality.

Office Artworks
In Hong Kong’s racing tradition, the lead horse that crosses the finish line is often adorned with a red-and-black cord and ceremonially paraded into the winner’s circle—an auspicious ritual symbolizing triumph, good fortune, and aspiration. CCD integrates this cultural motif into the office artworks, honoring the racing spirit of determination and perseverance, while articulating its own ethos of reverence and ambition.

Cultural Wall
Echoing CCD’s ongoing pursuit of integrating local culture with contemporary aesthetics, the Cultural Wall reinterprets Hong Kong’s cultural memories as distinctive spatial motifs, evoking subtle resonance between people and place, past and present.

Conference Room · Terrace
Connected to a viewing terrace, the open conference space flows seamlessly outdoors, capturing sweeping views of Victoria Harbour and the mountains beyond. Amid today’s fast-paced work rhythms, the space offers moments of ease, enhancing comfort and wellbeing in response to contemporary aspirations for a higher quality of work life.

Material Lab
With a forward-looking vision, CCD integrates cutting-edge technology into its design practice, continually advancing industry innovation and improving cost efficiency. The Material Lab, empowered by IDEAFUSION—CCD’s self-developed intelligent materials platform—leverages an innovative resource management model that enhances spatial flexibility and adaptability while providing real-time digital connectivity to global design resources.
