Mario Corea Aiello

Mario Corea Aiello, Hon. FAIA, is the founding partner and he has 50 years of international professional experience. He received his architectural degree from the Universidad Nacional in Rosario, Argentina a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the Graduate School of Design GSD of Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. In addition he earned a diploma in Urban Studies from the Architectural Association in London.

He has received numerous awards in distinctions. In 2010, he was given the A+ prize for his professional career and he was appointed as Honorary Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. His work has been nominated on two occasions for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture–Mies van der Rohe Award: for the General Hospital of Mollet in 2011 and for the Carles Rahola Public Library in Girona in 2015. In 2016 he received the National Prize for Architecture from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes of the Ministry of Culture of Argentina.

From 1976 to 2007 he was a professor at the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura del Vallès and he has been a visiting professor and lecturer at many international universities. Since 2015 he has been the Academic Director of the LA(H)B Laboratorio Arquitectura Hospitalaria Barcelona (Barcelona Healthcare Architecture Laboratory).

Currently Mario Corea continues his professional practice in his offices in Barcelona and Buenos Aires.
