Breuninger Flagship Store Hafencity
On 8 April 2025, the new Breuninger Flagship Store opened its doors in the Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier – a milestone for the
fashion and lifestyle company, marking its first brick-and-mortar retail outlet in the north of Germany and covering more than 13,000 square metres over three floors.
The holistic retail concept was created by London based Cardy Papa who undertook LPH 1–3 (Basic Evaluation, Preliminary and Design Planning and Development), following which DIA were responsible for LPH 4–9 (Planning Permission, Construction Planning, Tendering & Award Support, Site Supervision)
The store redefines the shopping experience, combining curated brand worlds, innovative design, and exclusive services; and positions Hamburg as a distinctive hotspot for fashion and lifestyle within the European context. Located directly on the Elbe River, it invites visitors not only to shop but also to linger – becoming a stage for inspiring brand presentations and emotional retail design. Traditional retail is reimagined here as a vibrant meeting place, defined by clear orientation, functional precision, and strong atmospheric impact.
