Sustainable Working and Researching ꟷ
Science and business come together at the Life-Science Campus FUBIC in Berlin-Lichterfelde. 7,200 square meters of laboratory, work, and communication spaces were built here: the FUHUB. Laboratories and offices will be housed in the four-story north wing, while the south wing have three floors of office space. A sprawling two-story hall in between will accommodate the reception and communication area. Users can also interact on the beautiful and extensive greened rooftop terrace. Remaining roof areas are landscaped with biodiversity as a priority and equipped with photovoltaic systems. Photovoltaic systems use the direct conversion of light into electricity, all at the atomic level. The photovoltaic system generates the majority of the required operational electricity, and the entire heating will be ensured through heat pumps. A cistern collects rainwater for irrigation of the green areas. The CO2-conserving wood-hybrid construction proudly claims Platinum certification according to DGNB.
