Queensland University of Technology

Cnr Musk and Victoria Park Rd, Brisbane, Australien

Queensland University of Technology has 40,000 students and is located at three campuses in and around Brisbane, Australia. The new innovative campus building underlines the university’s position as leading educational institution in the region.

The prominent location of the new building by the main campus entrance calls for an extraordinary architectural design. Thus, one end of the campus building is suspended above a transparent stairway passage, which leads up to the building's main floor and connects it with the existing library. The landscape is integrated into the building by means of the large green atrium and multi-functional stairs, used for formal learning activities as well as informal meetings in a seamless transition between inside and outside. Numerous university departments will move into the building, which sets new standards for innovative, sustainable design.
