Reform of the Orangutan's space in the Zoo of Barcelona

With this intervention the conditions of the old orangutans facility were radically improved, wish will allowed better life conditions, better handling, better reproduction and investigation conditions and consequently a new installation updated with the requirements needed by an international level zoo who commits to participate in programs of conservation and reproduction in captivity. The surface of the new space multiplies by 20 the old one and it is structured in 4 areas. Interiors and exteriors blend to find a close and balanced relation between visitors and orangutans, in a ground projected to afford comfort and stimulation.
