Villa with pool in the Berici Hills

Monte Berico, Italy

The redesigned villa maintains the current organisation on three levels and re-proposes the same distribution scheme, retaining the secondary functions on the ground floor basement, while on the upper floor, towards the west the living area overlooking the landscape below and towards the east the sleeping area. The second floor, set back from the floor below, reduces the visual impact from the street and houses the master bedroom suite.
An infinity pool and pool house are built next to the house.
The façades of the storeys are also redesigned and treated with different finishes, to emphasise the contrast between the existing and the new upper storeys, while retaining the rational organisational scheme of the old building.

The pigmented concrete basement, partially masked by vegetation, coincides with the consolidated ground floor, while the new upper floors are covered with slabs with a grit finish in the natural colours of earth and vegetation. The living area opens up towards the landscape, maintaining the current visual transparency, and the terraced garden is configured as an ideal extension of the indoor areas towards the outside.
